When building and maintaining the railway, cables are sometimes damaged in the process. This causes delayed trains and possibly consequences for train operation throughout entire Denmark. To avoid this situation, information about the placement of the cabling is crucial. A digitalization of Banedanmark’s maps can avoid damaged cables and delayed trains.
Banedanmark is in possession of more than 10.000 cable drawings, that need to be geo-referenced and vectorized. A task that companies in a similar situation have solved manually, but for which Banedanmark wishes to develop an automated solution.
In other words, Banedanmark is challenging the market to invent a new and innovative converting method.
A solution can have an enormous impact - not just for Banedanmark, but for other public and private organizations that wish to digitize old drawings as well.
